Join Love to Learn Tutor

Ms. Susan is a wonderful teacher and mentor to my seven-year-old son. We were very fortunate to have Ms. Susan tutor our son during the pandemic, a very difficult period for young kids who were deprived of any form of social and physical interaction with their teachers and peers. Our son was super excited about his time with Ms. Susan and looked forward to learning with/from her. I was able to closely observe Ms. Susan's pedagogical style which centered on building and honing in on my son's strengths while cultivating in him the confidence to try and experiment with new concepts, skills, and ideas. With Ms. Susan, my son became an exceptional and proficient reader --- he told me the other day that he "reads to take a break." This love for reading is certainly Ms. Susan's gift to him and so are his skills with numbers and math. Ms. Susan came to class prepared but was also very attentive to my son's interests and preferences on a given day and gently directed him to finish his goals without overwhelming him. She encouraged him to ask questions but also taught him to listen and reflect. Ms. Susan's background/training as a Montessori teacher combined with her natural gift to engage young minds is an asset. In an otherwise very difficult year, Ms. Susan's presence in my son's life uplifted his spirits and made him fall in love with the idea and practice of learning.
